Steve Jobs and Porn

All of the sudden, I like Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO.

Steve Jobs has basically said he doesn’t want porn on Apple devices. When one critic argued that Jobs was infringing on his freedom, Jobs said to go buy a different device. He cited kids as one of his motivations in an excerpt from his response.

“You might care more about porn when you have kids.”

Honestly, I don’t really care what his motivations are to be honest but I like the outcome.

It’s about time someone took that type of stance. Granted, one can still access porn on Apple devices. I realize that. However, to have a CEO of one of the leading corporations in the world take such a stance is a cause for celebration. Jobs has effectively placed the innocent over money with his position and even though Apple probably won’t lose any money over this, it’s encouraging. Imagine if Google took that type of stance…

Some of you may think that nothing is wrong with porn. I think you’re wrong but nonetheless you are entitled to that opinion. It has destroyed persons, marriages, families and finances. It is no good.
